NFL Playoffs are HERE - OPINIONS WANTED!
Posted Tuesday, January 4, 2011, at 9:40 PM2Well, the NFL season has flown by once again (not to my liking) and it's time to start thinking about who we might be seeing in the Super Bowl, in North Texas, on the first weekend in February. Wild card games are this weekend, and to help you stay updated with the scores and match-ups I've provided everyone with a bracket/schedule so you can keep up with everything... -
NFL Playoffs UPDATED - If the season ended TODAY
Posted Tuesday, December 7, 2010, at 12:28 AMI've just updated the bracket. The only real change is that New England jumped ahead of the Jets after they crushed them on Monday Night Football. Other than that, things pretty much stayed the same after last week. http://www.dddnews.com/bracket/1226/... -
Thursday Night Football on NFL Network
Posted Friday, November 12, 2010, at 12:30 AM1So, just finished watching the Ravens/Falcons game on NFL Network on Thursday Night Football. Tt was, by far, one of the top five games of the season. Plus, I'm one of the few people who is probably a fan of the Thursday night game, because I think it brings more attention to the League and their network! I watched the game despite the fact I don't have the NFL Network at home. ... -

Thoughts on Cardinals, NFL Training Camps
Posted Tuesday, August 3, 2010, at 4:05 PM2So, I just thought I'd share my opinions on some of the most trending topics in the sports world. First, I'm not happy one bit that the St. Louis Cardinals traded Ryan Ludwick. I know that we have young outfielders in John Jay and Allen Craig that need playing time, but what kind of message did the Cardinals send to the rest of the team by trading away a proven veteran just so that rookies can get playing time?? I don't get it....the message is this: If you start getting old, in terms of your baseball career, the Cardinals are going to get rid of you and play guys that aren't experienced enough and ready.. ... -
Is it football season yet??
Posted Thursday, July 15, 2010, at 5:59 PM1I know that we're in the middle of the MLB season, but I'm actually about tired of talking about baseball (although I do enjoy covering the sport). I know that I'll get back into the game when the playoffs start, but by that time both college and professional football seasons will be underway... -
Thoughts from the Sports Desk
Posted Saturday, July 10, 2010, at 12:28 PMWell, it's been a while since I've done this...so instead of focusing on just one topic, I'm going to just share my thoughts on some of the stories going on in the world of sports, both nationally and locally. First off, I would like to congratulate LeBron James for going to the team that will help him win his first NBA title, the Miami Heat. ... -
18 Holes with Three Pros
Posted Monday, June 28, 2010, at 7:05 PM1I know that this event happened a couple of weeks ago, but I'm just now getting a chance to share this with you all. A couple of weekends ago, I was given the opportunity to attend the PGA Tour's St. Jude Classic at TPC Southwind in Memphis. This was the PGA's tournament before the U.S Open, so a lot of players were playing in this event as a warm up for the Open... -
Time to support your country's soccer team
Posted Wednesday, June 23, 2010, at 10:34 PMIf you haven't already found out or haven't read the story to the right of this, the USA Men's National team won one of the most important soccer matches in it's history. I'm saying that because most people around here do not understand how important this win was. The win against Algeria not only put the U.S. in the knockout round of the FIFA World Cup, it gave them enough points to actually win Group C over favored England national team... -

'It's the most wonderful time of the year!'
Posted Monday, May 24, 2010, at 4:00 PM1I do believe that we're entering the most wonderful time of the year in the sports world. There's so much going on and coming up that sometimes it's hard to keep up with everything. First off, baseball is in full swing. Before you know it, the All-Star Game will be approaching us and we'll once again have to see if the National League will finally break out and win the game for the first time in 12 years. ... -
"Who says you can't go home?"
Posted Thursday, May 13, 2010, at 1:52 PMAfter being gone for four years to pursue my degree in Sports Broadcasting/Journalism, I've returned to my roots to take over as your sports editor. Although I've been away at school at Arkansas State, I've done my best to keep up with everything going on with local sports. I count it an honor and a privilage to return back home and cover local sports for this great newspaper... -
"I'm Back Home"
Posted Monday, December 14, 2009, at 1:47 PM1Well folks, I know it's been a long time since I've posted something, but I've been very busy since I've been back home. I will say that it's great to be back home! Everyone I've seen have been asking me many questions about my experiences while at ESPN and I enjoy all the conversations that I've had with people since I've been back! I will say that I DID pass my final evaluation with ESPN and they are looking to hire me FULL-TIME upon graduation (if there are jobs available)!! I'm extremely excited and anxious to see all the doors that are going to open up after the fact that my resume now reads the four letters E-S-P-N!! I want to thank everybody for all prayers and encouraging words while I was in Connecticut; they helped TREMENDOUSLY!!. ... -

"The Half-Way Point!!"
Posted Sunday, October 25, 2009, at 1:15 PM1Well, I've reached the end of my 5th week here at ESPN!! I just found out that I'm meeting/exceeding all the expectations that they had set forth for me on my 30-day evaluation!! I'm so glad that I'm impressing not only my supervisors and coordinators, but I'm really starting to feel like I'm one of the editors here at ESPN! All my fellow editors have been impressed with my work and my passion for editing sports! I have actually gotten the chance to be in an edit room without a trainer, and I have proven that I've learned how to edit without having someone check my work. ... -
Two More Weeks Gone By
Posted Monday, October 12, 2009, at 8:53 AMHi Everybody!! Sorry it's been a couple of weeks since I've checked in, but things at ESPN can get really busy at times. I'm still learning a whole lot and all my trainers and supervisors have been giving me nothing but good feedback on my work. It seems like I'm doing a highlight for SportsCenter nearly every night , maybe even two games a night. ...
