The Kennett Lady Indians tennis team defeated Poplar Bluff, 5-4, in the conclusion of a rain-shortened match from Aug. 28 before falling, 7-2, in Thursday's regularly-scheduled match at Kennett High School, while the Indians soccer team lost to Saxony Lutheran, 3-1, at Indian Park.
In area volleyball Thursday, Hayti defeated Delta C-7 25-10, 25-22, while Holcomb defeated Risco and Gideon defeated South Pemiscot.

At KHS, Christy Doughten and Samantha Brown got the Lady Indians' only wins in the regular match. In the makeup match, Doughten, Brown, Hanna Lack and Susan Shetley all had singles wins, while the doubles' team of Shetley and Brook Burcham also won.
Kennett won both junior varsity matches, 7-6 and 10-5.
The Lady Indians host Paragould, Ark. Monday.

At Indian Park, the Crusaders scored three second-half goals to send Kennett to 0-4-1 on the season.
Despite the loss, the Indians did get a solid game from keeper Anthony Weaver, who played his second straight game in goal.
Kennett got its lone goal late in the game when Johnathan Rogers scored on a great cross from Sean Callawaert.
"We wanted to flood the area with an extra forward, so we moved up to forward," Kennett coach Rick Bell said of Rogers. "He 's a very good ballhandler and he knows the game very well."
The Indians host Jackson Monday.
Volleyball
Hayti def. Delta C-7
At Hayti, the Lady Chargers (2-6) got off to a slow start and dropped their fourth straight game.
In the junior varsity contest, Hayti won 25-20, 25-11.
Delta C-7 is at Holcomb today.
Baseball
North Pemiscot 6, Senath-H'ville 4
At Wardell, the Mustangs won for the sixth time in seven games thanks to a five-run outburst in the bottom of the fourth inning.
The Lions took a 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning, but could not hold it.
Dustin Hunter had two hits, a double and a RBI to pace the Senath-Hornersville offense, while Jeremy Wilson added a double and two RBIs and Skyler Droke finished with a double and RBI.
Hunter took the loss on the mound, allowing six runs in 3 2/3 innings. Wilson finished up with 2 1/3 innings of scoreless relief.
Twin Rivers 8, Holcomb 5
At Holcomb, Steven McElwrath hit a grand slam for the Hornets in the bottom of the seventh inning to send it to extra innings, but the Royals scored three in the top of the eighth to escape with the win.
Shane McElwrath took the loss in relief for Holcomb (6-7).
Cooter 5, Campbell 4
At Campbell, the Wildcats jumped out to a 5-1 lead, then held off a furious charge by the Camels in the bottom of the seventh inning for the win.
Devon Barger earned the win for Cooter (10-2), allowing one run and four hits in six innings while striking out 10 and walking three.
The Wildcats won despite leaving 10 runners in scoring position and being outhit 8-4.
Zach Jackson took the loss for Campbell in relief of starter Cale Weeks.
