In baseball action Monday, it was North Pemiscot 15, Holcomb 0; and Campbell 11, Senath-Hornersville 10. On the softball diamond, it was Southland 14, Clarkton 4; and Holcomb 11, Bernie 9.
At Jonesboro, the Lady Indians (0-3) pitched a shutout for the first 30 minutes Monday before the home team scored in the 31st minute to take a 1-0 lead to the break.
"Our defense was very strong tonight," Kennett coach Rick Bell said. "We had about four or five good attempts. We just have trouble getting the ball into the net."
The Lady Hurricane added three second-half goals to seal the win.
"We're improving every game," Bell said. "We're playing good soccer right now. We just can't seem to score. ... (But) I'm extremely proud of the girls."
Kennett heads back to Jonesboro today to take on Valley View.
Baseball
North Pemiscot 15, Holcomb 0
At Holcomb, the visiting Mustangs scored early and often to improve to 5-0 on the spring.
North Pem pounded out 11 hits, including two each by John Jackson, Josh Tomlin, Parker Watkins and Brandon Quillin.
Tomlin also dominated on the mound, moving to 2-0 on the spring by tossing the four-hit shutout.
Steven McElwrath took the loss for Holcomb, which fell to 0-4 on the spring.
Campbell 11,
Senath-H'ville 10
At Campbell, the visiting Lions took a seven-run lead to the sixth inning, but could not hold on as the host Camels rallied for the win.
Senath-Hornersville (2-2) led 10-3 after five innings, but a combination of errors and walks doomed the Lions.
Heath Horvath, Dustin Hunter, Tyler Smith and losing pitcher Jeremy Wilson had two hits each for Senath-Hornersville, while Horvath homered and drove in three runs and Skyler Droke added a double.
Softball
Southland 14, Clarkton 4
At Arbyrd, the host Lady Rebels led just 5-4 entering the bottom of the fifth inning, but exploded for nine runs over the final two frames to improve to 3-1 on the season and in Tri-County Conference competition.
Darcy McMinn was 3-for-4 with a double and four RBIs, while winning pitcher Becca Bakich was 2-for-3 with two runs scored.
Heather Brown was 2-for-3 with a solo home run to pace Clarkton.
