Modlin tossed a no-hitter, striking out 10 to lead the Campbell Lady Camels past Gideon, 4-2, in the first round of the Tri-County Conference Softball Tournament here Monday.
In other action at the tournament Monday, it was No. 2 Southland 16, North Pemiscot 1; top-seed Delta C7 11, Clarkton 1; and third-seeded Holcomb 15, Risco 3. In regular-season softball, it was Senath-Hornersville 9, South Pemiscot 8.
At the Bootheel Conference Baseball Tournament, it was No. 3 Senath-Hornersville 5, Malden 4; and two-seed Caruthersville 10, Hayti 0.
In the Tri-County Conference Baseball Tournament, it was top-seeded Campbell 15, Gideon 0; No. 5 Holcomb 3, No. 4 Delta C7 2; No. 3 Cooter 10, Clarkton 0; and No. 2 North Pemiscot 10, Risco 0.
At Holcomb, Modlin was dominant, keeping the Lady Bulldogs in check to avenge an earlier defeat.

In the late game at Holcomb, the Lady Rebels needed just three innings to snap a four-game losing streak and advance to a semifinal matchup with the host school.
Darcy McMinn went 4-for-4 at the plate with two runs scored and a RBI to pace Southland (9-7). Katie Crouch and Cricket Barnes each scored three times, while Brett Higgins had two RBIs and scored twice.
Becca Bakich picked up the win, holding the Lady Mustangs to just two hits and one run on the day.
Senath-Hornersville 9, South Pemiscot 8
At Steele, the Lady Lions overcame the loss of freshman hurler Hannah Kennedy to pick up a non-conference win over the Lady Bulldogs.
Senath-Hornersville pounded out 14 hits on the day, led by a 3-for-4 day from Megan Smith. Whitney Odle, McKenzie Harris, Kasey Mara and Jena Payne each pounded out two hits, while Payne drilled an inside-the-park home run.
Alecia Godsey earned her first win of the season, scattering seven hits and five walks over seven innings while striking out four and allowing four earned runs.
Baseball
Senath-Hornersville 5, Malden 4
At Caruthersville, the Lions kept up their winning ways, avenging an earlier loss to the Green Wave Monday behind a strong pitching performance by Dustin Hunter.
Hunter struck out 10 and walked four while scattering four hits in six innings of work, while Tony Scott collected three of Senath-Hornersville's seven hits and Tyler Smith had a pair of RBIs.
The Lions (15-5) were coming off a championship at the Oran tournament over the weekend, defeating the host school, 9-3, to take home the title.
Smith picked up the win, striking out 13 and allowing just one earned run in six innings of work. He was also 4-for-4 at the dish, while Skyler Droke was 2-for-3 with a grand slam home run and Daniel Haddock added a pair of hits, one going for a double.
North Pemiscot 10, Risco 0
At Wardell, Parker Watkins tossed an one-hitter as the Mustangs rolled past the Tigers and into the semifinals of the Tri-County tourney.
Watkins also pounded out three hits and drove in four runs on the day, while the John Jackson also added three hits and Eric Fowler was 2-for-3. Josh Tomlin added three runs as well.
