At Senath, Heath Horvath tossed a complete game, striking out 11 while walking two and allowing just three hits as the Lions won their fourth straight.

"We're just glad to get to play in some warm weather," Senath-Hornersville coach Randy Smith said. "Anytime you can get a win it's good. I think we're playing a little better all the time. We just need to play some."

Senath-Hornersville had seven hits on the day.

At Deering, the Reindeer scored five runs in the top of the third inning to erase an early 2-0 deficit, then added four runs each in the fourth and sixth innings to enforce the 10-run sportsmanship rule.

"We didn't come ready to play," Delta coach Nathan Baker said. "We had a chance to have some momentum going into the conference tournament. ... We were (hoping) to take momentum going into that."

Tolby Richardson went the distance on the mound to pick up the win for Clarkton, while Sloan Richardson took the loss for the Chargers.

The 'Deer outhit Delta 12-10.

Track
Kennett competes at Sikeston Relays

Competing in a rare relay meet, the Tribe made a good showing at Sikeston last Friday.

On the boys' side, the Tribe took second in the triple jump with the team of Greg Bowles, Jimmy Gooden and Cameron Conder, while the hurdle team of Demetrius Childress, Will Johnson and Tyler Daugherty came in third.

On the girls' side, the Lady Indians got third in the triple jump with the team of Susan Taylor and Veronica Amos, third in the shot put with Sharika Walls, Tamika Calloway and Caroline Shetley and third place in the high jump with the team of Susan Shetley, Taylor, and Veronica Amos.

"It was hard to place in any event Friday," Kennett girls coach Marc Sherrell said. "I am pleased with the medals that we did manage to get. I think it shows our kids that they are capable of hanging with these schools but also shows them that we are really going to have to work hard if we want to do well in districts."
