Cali Living by CBHine -- Capital punishment
So I understand the U.S. Supreme Court has decided to take a look at Lethal Injection.
Executions here in California have been on hold for months and months and months
It was back in February that Michael Morales was to be put to death. Morales raped and murdered a teenage girl in Lodi, California 25 years ago. The courts stopped it because Morales' attorneys made the case that lethal injection is cruel and unusual punishment. (??????)
Now the Supreme Court is looking at the issue... thank goodness. Not the Morales case specifically, but it's expected the Court's ruling will have an effect on the state of California.
I'm all in favor of the constitution -- no cruel and unusual punishment. Sometimes I think, lethal injection seems to fit the crime for a convicted rapist and murdererâ€* What do you think?
