Girl Scouts earn Bronze Award

The Girl Scouts of Troop #71259 spent time earning their Bronze Awards in part by making Kindness Kits for peers who may be having trouble coping with difficult emotions.

Troop Members, Ja'Niya Payne, Patience Thomas and Kherington Mezo organize all the supplies that will go into the Kindness Kits.

The Girl Scouts decide what items should be grouped when packing the totes of supplies for delivery.

The Kindness Kits begin to take share as the items are organized and sorted!

A variety of items were included in the Kindness Kit supplies. The Counselor's Office can customize each kit to fit the individual student's needs.

The troop members gained insight from Jennifer Nigut on her job as a counselor at South Elementary School.

Learning about Great Women- The troop made their own slime to include in the kit supplies. They learned that having your hands engaged in an activity (like playing with slime) can make it easier for some people to open up and talk.

Ja'Niya Payne, Kendalynn Tucker, and Ashley Hastings love making slime.

Courtlynn Lynn, Chloe Chase, Ashley Hastings, and Chyna Palmer enjoy assembling stress balls. These homemade stress relievers were a favorite of the troop members.

Troop Member Jaelah Duckworth writes words of encouragement on notes that will be placed in each of the Kindness Kits.
