Crew members with a Sikeston, Mo., construction company the City of Kennett contracted with for its sidewalk improvement project begin digging and preparing the areas in which decorative pavers will be installed next to areas where the sidewalks have been completed in Downtown Kennett. The sidewalk project which was developed and coordinated through Skelton and Associates, owned and operated by engineer Metz Skelton of Kennett, consists of a specific set of specs that not only include the installation of improved sidewalks, featuring attractive pavers, but it also includes the removal of former light poles standing in the downtown area, which will be replaced by new street lights connected to decorative poles, like those seen around the Sheryl Crow Aquatic Center and Mitchell Park area. The bid specs included all of this, as well as the underground wiring to make the results of the project even more aesthetically pleasing.
