The 7th Annual Copperosity Classic is coming up Saturday, Oct. 22 at the Kennett Country Club. Kay, Jimmy, Shelly and Matt Collier started the four-person scramble golf tournament in 2010 to honor their father, Jim Collier, the Lone arRanger, to continue his legacy of humor, laughter, and goodwill toward the community he loved.

This year, the beneficiary of the Copperosity Classic is the Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Dunklin County. Past recipients were Save Camp Latonka, the Kennett Humane Department, ICARE of Dunklin County, the Kennett #39 Educational Foundation, Kennett Downtown Square, and the Alzheimer's Unit at National HealthCare.

The tournament features a first place $500 prize, prizes for second and last place, and longest drive (man and woman). Golf is $90 per person and includes golf, golf cart, the evening events, and a logoed golf shirt.

Check-in for golf begins at 11 a.m., with a 12:30 p.m. shotgun. Players without a foursome will be placed that day or sooner, depending on the date of registration. This year you can purchase mulligans and a tee-off from the ladies tees. They are $10 each, with a maximum of two each.

If attending the evening festivities only, the cost is $25 per person. This can be paid at the door. However, organizers would like to know if you are attending, so they can get an accurate count for the evening meal.

The evening events are at the Kennett Country Club, too. The silent auction starts at 5 p.m. A dinner buffet begins at 6 p.m. At 9 p.m., the silent auction ends and winners will be announced.

Make checks payable to CASA of Dunklin County.
