Miguel Angel Rivera, 25, of Kennett, has been missing since Sunday, Feb. 23, Kennett Police Dept. (KPD) Chief Kenny Wilson said Wednesday.

Rivera was last seen at Jonesboro at a Kum & Go convenience store at 2:17 a.m., according to a KPD press release.

"It's out of the ordinary for Mr. Rivera to be out of touch with his family," Wilson said. "They are very concerned.

"We are actively looking for him," Wilson added. "Of course, people have the right to disappear. We don't believe that's the case with Mr. Rivera."

Rivera is 5-'11" tall and weighs 167 lbs. He has brown hair and brown eyes.

Rivera is described as having a large tattoo on the left side of his chest and a smaller one on the right, a KPD press release indicated.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that Rivera last was seen wearing a black shirt and boots and was in a black 2014 Chevrolet passenger car.

There is no specific time in Missouri a person must be missing before filing a missing person report.

Missouri law requires that any law enforcement agency receiving a report of a missing child or adult shall immediately enter the name of the person into the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) and into the Missouri Uniform Law Enforcement System (MULES) with all available identifying features and information.

If possible, provide law enforcement with an updated photo of the missing person to be added to the NCIC entry.

Wilson encouraged those with information to contact the KPD at 573.888.4622.
