The Kennett Chamber of Commerce has recognized homes and businesses for Christmas season lighting displays. The homes were nominated for the special recognition by owners or other individuals. The awards recognize the work put forth to help make the holiday season a little brighter...

Holcomb senior, Kayla Bartholomew, said that her host family was her most favorite thing about her exchange trip to Japan. Bartholomew was also introduced to various Japanese foods and cultural differences.

The Kennett Chamber of Commerce has recognized homes and businesses for Christmas season lighting displays. The homes were nominated for the special recognition by owners or other individuals. The awards recognize the work put forth to help make the holiday season a little brighter.

Homes awarded the sign of excellence are:

Ward One: Charles and Faye James, 609 Clipper; Ward Two: Joe Prance, 227 Belle Meade; Ward Three: David and Teresa Henfling, 806 S. Anthony; Ward Four: Mike and Judy Hunter, 309 W. Linden Circle and Ward Five: Dewayne and Shirley Smith, 1980 Dunklin.

Homes receiving superior signs are:

Ward One: Allan and Angie Jones, 509 Wiggs; Richard Pazanowski, 708 Wayne St. and Wanda and Lynn Stampley, 501 West Washington.

Ward Two: Gary Neighbors, 1015 Sarah Drive and Kay Allgier, 416 North Baker Drive.

Ward Three: Jackie, Rachel and Josh Gattis, 807 S. Anthony; Charles, Patricia and Courtney Harris, 810 S. Anthony; Kim and Jerry Gore, 605 E. Fifth St. and Tonya and Blake Watson, 1107 E. Fifth St.

Ward Four: Mark and Cherri Bryant, 908 S. Walnut; Jerry Gage, 414 W. Eighth; Kevin and Janice Pate, 204 E. Linden Circle and Jerry and Linda Ivy, 302 Butler.

Ward Five: Gerald and Penny Riddle, 1415 Dunklin; Ken and Jerris Smith, 2605 Quail Run; Scott Haywood, 1524 Mallady Lane and John and Regina Pate, 2608 Sherwood.

Neighborhoods:

Bradford Place, Belle Meade and Hickory Village were all awarded signs of excellence.

Everyone is invited to drive around town and view these lighting displays as well as the numerous others which were not nominated for the lighting competition.
