The National Weather Service in Memphis has issued an Ice Storm Warning for portions of West Tennessee, Northeast Arkansas and Southeast Missouri for Tuesday evening through Thursday at noon; says driving may be impossible over the next few days.

The National Weather Service in Memphis, Tenn. Has issued an Ice Storm Warning from 6 p.m. Tuesday until 12-noon on Thursday.

The NWS reports that the first round of ice will begin Tuesday evening, with greater accumulations of ice expected throughout Wednesday and Thursday. They also predict there will be power outages and tree damage and advise driving conditions could be nearly impossible, stating “hazardous conditions could impact morning and evening commutes. Travel is strongly discouraged. If you must travel, keep a flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency. Prepare for power outages.”

More winter weather weather is expected to move through the area next week as well.
