A celebration of the city's best.
The Kennett Chamber of Commerce 2025 Awards Banquet on Thursday evening honored a number of the city's most faithful leaders.
From an educator who places her students and her duty to teach high on a list of personal goals and a coach who voluntarily started a traveling basketball team for young student athletes to a civic organization that roars and a beloved city outreach program, the Kennett Opera House overflowed with enthusiasm for their achievements and love for their service.
Kennett Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Christian Johnson served as the event's master of ceremonies and introduced the Chamber Board of Directors' honorees for their outstanding contributions to the community.
The Downtown Bistro was chosen Business of the Year; Kennett's South Elementary School Principal Dr. Michelle McMullen was voted the Chamber's Educator of the Year; Kennett Coach John Patton took home Volunteer of the Year honors; The Kennett Lions Club walked away with the Service Club of the Year Award; and a special award honored The Caring Council, winners of the table decorating contest.
Opera singer and Kennett native Limmie Pulliam served as the event's keynote speaker.
Pulliam described his life at Kennett and his struggles to become a global success. He emphasized his love for his family and his community.
Pulliam offered words of gratitude to those who helped him along his path and encouraged those who travel theirs, sometimes alone.
The banquet was catered by Towney Sparks, and entertainment was provided by guitarist and singer Elliot Wade.
