Once again, the Copperosity Classic will be doing its part to promote the City of Kennett and to help some very worthy causes.
Together, the Copperosity and the Kennett Humane Department will be sponsoring some fun things for the kids during the "Fall into Arts" Festival which will be held Saturday, Sept. 7, and Sunday, Sept. 8.
All proceeds from the event will be divided between the two veterinary clinics in town.
The "Kids' Art Zone will feature a face painting station, a crazy hair salon (with different colors of hair spray and funny hairdos), a temporary tattoo station, a coloring station with crayons, glitter and glue sticks, and pick-up ducks and fisher price basketball for the little ones.
There will also be a Doggy Kissing Booth as well as a playpen that will have some puppies to hold and cuddle.
Manning the stations will be various church youth groups including those from Third Street Baptist Church and Abiding Peace Church. Kay Collier, coordinator for the copperosity, noted that others will be there as well.
Making an appearance at the kissing booth will be Ace, the Kennett Humane Department mascot who will get things rolling. Humane Officer Tena Petix will also be bringing two or three more dogs that according to Petix "love to give kisses."
Prices for the kissing booth is $1 for a kiss, and $1 not to have a kiss.
"It's all for a good cause and to let the kids in our community experience what fun it can be to go to a community event," Kay Collier, coordinator for the Copperosity, said, adding, "We hope everyone will come out on Saturday, Sept. 7, to support KAFTA's "Fall into Arts" and the Kennett Humane Department that does such a wonderful job taking care of homeless and lost animals in our community."
