Saturday marked the first annual Miss Kennett pageant. The event was held from 10 a.m. Until 6 p.m. in the KHS auditorium. Cost of entry was $25, and proceeds will be used for Future Teachers of America and senior class expenses. Every year FTA attends regional and district conferences and this will help to cover the cost of those expenses. The fundraiser also helps with the cost of senior class expenses such as the senior banquet and the senior video.
"Next year we will be looking for sponsors to help with the cost of the pageant. This was the first one and we plan to have many more," pageant organizer Melinda Brandt commented.
There were thirty participants in this years pageant. "All the girls had fun and really enjoyed themselves," said Brandt. "I want to thank April Ross, Hillary Moore, Taylor Owens, and Charlotte Riddle for judging the event."
