Meet Kathy Neal: The heart behind Kennett Businesswomen's Business of the Month

The Kennett Businesswomen's Business of the Month is Kathy Neal's Daycare.

"We keep usually 10 kids," Neal said. "And three in the afternoon.

"So that's 13 altogether," she continued. "We just love kids. That's why we started. Plus, we wanted to stay home with our own children. So we enjoy the best of both worlds."

Neal started caring for children in 1990, and her daycare provided her the opportunity to watch many of them grow.

"Some of them drive up in their cars now to stop and visit," she said. "They come up and give me hugs.

"It just reminds me of when they were real little," she said with a smile. "It's a sweet feeling."

Neal is aided in her business by her daughter, Christina Downing.

Kathy Neal's Daycare is located at 1004 W. Washington St., Kennett.
