MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Kennett area will be wet and cold for the first part of the workweek, a National Weather Service meteorologist said Monday morning.

Forecaster Desiree Meadows reported the area will experience rain into Wednesday, Feb. 12.

"So, a light rain will fall starting Monday night, mostly after midnight," Meadows said. "A fairly light to moderate rain.

"But once it starts, it's pretty much not going to stop until at least Wednesday night," she added. "Especially up north in the county, not as much down south. But there will be light-to-moderate rainfall at times. Maybe an inch-and-a-half to two inches."

February 2024 weather was dry on Feb. 10, according to internet models.

Skies remained partly sunny to clear and temperatures remained high, from 54 degrees as a high on Feb. 10 to 70 degrees on Feb. 15, 2024.

"It's still going to be pretty cold, as well, this week," Meadows said. "Our temperatures will be above freezing, thankfully.

"But ending with a cold rain," she continued. "It's going to be in the upper 30s to low 40s."

Temperatures on Feb. 10, 2024, began with a low of 43, descended to a low of 28 on Feb. 13, 2024.

Highs were more than pleasant, with just one day, Feb. 12, 2024, a bit chilly when the mercury failed to break the mid-40s for a daytime high.

"It's not going to be a fun week, unfortunately," Meadows said. "Many areas north probably will see some snow.

"But for the Kennett area, mainly wet and cold."
