Agnes M. Bledsoe, 98, of Campbell, Missouri, passed away Thursday, August 8, 2024 at Mercy Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
Agnes, daughter of G. C. and Katie Sanders McCoy, was born Wednesday, October 14, 1925 in Augusta, Ark.
She graduated from Holcomb High School in May 1945, started teaching July 7, 1945 at Case School; Sunnyside School; Cane Creek School all one room schools; Phillips; Risco School and then Campbell. She received her Master in Elementary Education from Arkansas State University and a member of the Kappa Delta Pi Eta Delta Chapter and attended the Campbell General Baptist Church.
On November 24, 1945 in Piggott, Ark., she was united in marriage to J.D. Bledsoe. He preceded her in death on September 8, 1997.
Her survivors include daughter, Linda Bledsoe of Campbell; grandchildren, Beth Sloan and husband, Mike, of Bainbridge, Ga., Gale Wilson-Tyre and husband, Paul, of Bainbridge, Darian Wilson and wife, Katrina of Winder, Ga.; great-grandchildren, Joey Sloan, Jeri Sloan, Luci Sloan, JW Goodman, Jr., Gus Goodman, Caleb Wilson, Coleman Wilson, Lane Wilson, Sara Shepard (Dustin), Jack Wilson, Mollie Wilson, Thomas Wilson and Zander Wilson; great-great-grandchildren; Christopher Wilson, Sophia Shepard, Wyatt Dale Shepard, Eliza Jane Goodman and Hazel Leola Wilson; brothers: Larry McCoy and wife, Joan, of Greenway, Ark., James McCoy and wife, Billie, of Crestwood, Mo., Glenn McCoy and wife, Betty, of Ellis Grove, Ill., Jack McCoy and wife, Pat, of Galveston, Texas; sisters, Kathleen Broussard of Fredericktown, Mo., and Sally Tunesi of Sterling Heights, Mich.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Carol Jane Wilson and son-in-law, Jerry Don “Smokie’ Wilson; grandson, Jerry Dale Wilson; great-grandchildren, Sara Jane, Katie June, Robert Paul and Susan Grace Sloan.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, August 11, 2024 at the Landess Funeral Chapel in Campbell. Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. Monday, August 12, 2024 with Reverend Randy Vaughn and Reverend Darren Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery-Landess Addition at Campbell.
