Jimmie Lyn Northington, 82, of Malden, Mo., died Thursday, Dec. 20, at Dexter Hospital in Dexter, Mo.
Born Sept. 19, 1925, he was a deacon at the First Presbyterian Church in Malden and employed by Malden Implement as a mechanic, retiring in 2005, after 55 years of service with them.
He was also a veteran of WWII and was wounded in action in France, and received the Purple Heart award.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Tommie, and twin brother, Billie.
Survivors include a son, Dannie A. Northington of Prairie City, Ore.; a sister, Maxine Bailey of Malden, Mo.; two grandchildren, Ursuala Northington of Bosie, Idaho, and Dannie A. Northington, Jr., of Redmon, Ore.; two sister-in-laws, Joy Greer and Billie Dean Northington, both of Malden; two nephews, Gary Northington of St. Louis, Mo., and Glen Northington of Minneapolis, Minn.; and a grand-nephew, Ryan Greer of Malden.
Visitation was held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., today, Wednesday, Dec. 26, at First Presbyterian Church in Malden, with funeral services following at 1 p.m.
Burial took place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Campbell, Mo.
