Richard Allan Driggett, Sr., 74, formerly of Kennett, departed this life Jan. 20, 2013, at his home in Palm Harbor, Fla. He was born May 12, 1938, in Chicago, Ill., to the late Stephan and Elizabeth Zinaveah Driggett, and lived an adventurous life. He was a veteran, played pro football, taught Psychology at ASU, supervised factories in the Bootheel, drove a truck for 35 years, finally leaving the area to fulfill his dreams of becoming an entrepreneur. ...

Richard Allan Driggett, Sr., 74, formerly of Kennett, departed this life Jan. 20, 2013, at his home in Palm Harbor, Fla.

He was born May 12, 1938, in Chicago, Ill., to the late Stephan and Elizabeth Zinaveah Driggett, and lived an adventurous life.

He was a veteran, played pro football, taught Psychology at ASU, supervised factories in the Bootheel, drove a truck for 35 years, finally leaving the area to fulfill his dreams of becoming an entrepreneur. He loved camping and fishing in his spare time.

He is survived by an older brother, Daniel and family of Ill., and his wife, Gena, of Texas.

A very loving and caring father, grandfather, and great grandfather, he also leaves behind three sons, Blake Blankenship and family, Rich Driggett, Jr., and wife, Kim, of Ill., and Daniel Driggett and Michelle, of Kennett; four daughters, Tracey Blankenship Strawn and husband, Mark, of Tenn., Becky Driggett Crawford, of Kennett, Patricia Driggett, of Fla., and Michelle Driggett, of Calif., and their families.; grandchildren, Heather Young, of Del., Devon, Cheyenne and Kendra Crawford, Felicia Driggett, and Evan and Dakota Lance, all of Kennett; great-grandchildren, Keontrae Crawford, Jeremy, Deondre, LaMea and JaKeara Jefferson, and Isabella Finley, of Kennett. Touching a lot of lives, he also leaves behind many more, including many stepchildren and their families, of Ill., and a host of special friends including, Bob and Brenda Demaio and Benny Childress, of Kennett.

Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 24, at the New Covenant Fellowship Church with Pastor Bob Taylor officiating.
