Besides the fellowship, my favorite part of the Delta Fair is the food.

I love fair food. I’ve been to fairs all over the country and I’ve always loved the food.

One of my favorite items at the Wisconsin fairs are cream puffs.

They’re as big as your head and overflowing with cream filling.

Other favorites include caramel apples, corn dogs, and of course, cotton candy.

Cotton candy is 99 percent sugar with dashes of flavoring and food coloring.

Who wouldn’t love that melt in your mouth treat?

Ask almost anyone, and the most popular fair food will be fried foods.

If you can eat it, chances are you can fry it.

Funnel Cakes. Yep, love ‘em.

On a hot afternoon walking the midway, you can’t go wrong with a cold snow cone.

Nachos, hot dogs, and soft pretzels dripping with cheese.

Actually, anything with cheese on it is fine by me.

Fried Oreos, walking tacos, and a tall lemonade.

A few years back I went to the fair with a group of friends.

At the end of the evening a gentlemen from our group approached me and stated, “I’ve never seen a human being eat as much as you at one time.”

Mission accomplished.

My belly was full and I smiled all the way to the car.

As I glanced at the Ferris Wheel in my rearview mirror, I couldn’t wait to go back the next night.

I enjoy the Delta Fair.

I enjoy all of it, but if you’re like me, there’s a special place in your heart for the food court.

See you out there.
