Kennett golf team places 13th at Poplar Bluff Invitational

POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. -- The Kennett golf team placed 13th at the Poplar Bluff Invitational golf tournament at Westwood Hills Country Club Monday.

Poplar Bluff won the team and individual competitions at the event. Poplar Bluff compiled a team score of 298, which was 20 strokes better than runner-up Notre Dame.

Poplar Bluff's Carr Vernon won the individual competition with a round of 69. Dexter's Cody Stevens finished second with a round of 70.

Kennett recorded a team score of 459. Kennett's Aaron Beck shot a team-low 94. Kennett's Bryce McPherson shot 101, Nathan Robertson shot 131, Colin Byers shot 133 and Laura White shot 146.
