On March 19, Girl Scouts of the Missouri Heartland held its Annual Business Meeting to elect their 2022-2023 Board of Directors. Six women and men are newly elected—including Kennett local, Nicholas Jain—with expertise in fields ranging from journalism to law. All six members are talented and passionate leaders ready to help strengthen and protect the Girl Scout mission to build girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place...

On March 19, Girl Scouts of the Missouri Heartland held its Annual Business Meeting to elect their 2022-2023 Board of Directors. Six women and men are newly elected—including Kennett local, Nicholas Jain—with expertise in fields ranging from journalism to law. All six members are talented and passionate leaders ready to help strengthen and protect the Girl Scout mission to build girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.

Nicholas Jain is the elected Prosecuting Attorney of Dunklin County, Missouri, where he handles a variety of cases with a focus on homicides, serious assaults, sexual offenses, and crimes against children. He serves as a Council Member of the Missouri Bar Young Lawyer Section. Before taking office, Nicholas was an assistant prosecuting attorney in Greene County, Missouri. Nicholas was first exposed to Girl Scouting through his younger sister, Lydia. His mother, Glenda, a Girl Scout herself, served as a troop leader as Lydia progressed through Girl Scouts eventually earning her Girl Scout Gold Award. Nicholas attended the University of Missouri and graduated with a B.S. in Science and Agricultural Journalism and a Juris Doctor from the School of Law. Nicholas is a native of and currently resides in Kennett, Mo. In Kennett, Nicholas is active in the First United Methodist Church and Lions Club. He is a pilot and earned a Master of Science in Aviation Safety from the University of Central Missouri. He also enjoys cooking and serves as a Kansas City Barbeque Society Certified Barbeque Judge.

Girl Scouts of the Missouri Heartland Board of Directors is led by Board Chari JaoAnn Graffam of Joplin, MO; 1st Vice Chair Mary Daly of Columbia, MO; 2nd Vice Chair Savannah Stepp of Springfield, MO; Secretary Jane Paul of Springfield, MO; and Treasurer Tonya Sprenkle of Seneca, MO. Directors at large for the 2022-2023 include Charlotte Angotti, Emily Biagioni-Paulette, Sarah Bono, Mary Bozarth, Kim Capps, Fawna Coons, Rachel Fuhrman, Teresa Haney, Nicholas Jain, Laura McCaskill, Toni Miller, Erin Shaw, Katie Vance, Cecilia Young, and Valerie Richardson.
