The Cotton Boll Artist League in Kennett is promoting a call to local artists for the 2010 "Follow Your Art" show, sale and competition, to be held on Oct. 23, 2010.
Artists from all around are invited to participate in the visual art exhibit and will have the opportunity to compete in a judged portion and/or showcase their work with an option to sell to the public. The artwork will be set up along Downtown Kennett on the sidewalks and in downtown businesses.
For the judged portion, prizes include a first place award of $500, a second place award of $250 and a third place award of $100 with honorable mention ribbons also being provided.
Competition entries are limited to 2-dimensional works of art, excluding photography. Art for display and sale can include, but is not limited to, photography, sculpture, art glass, wood work, and jewelry.
Entry in the art competition is $20. Inside space rental for the show and sale is $10 and $5 for an outside space. Entry into the show to set up a booth is free to Cotton Boll Artist League members. Space rental is currently being waived for members of the Cotton Boll Artist League. Individuals with a passion for the arts are encouraged to join the League for $25 a year.
Artists can participate in either the competition or show and sale or participate in both.
The deadline to register for the event and to be included in the Follow Your Art program and map is Oct. 15, 2010.
