Troop E of the Missouri State Highway Patrol will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint and a hazardous moving vehicle operation spot checks throughout the coverage region during the month of April.
Captain George E. Ridens recently announced that the department will do these preventative practices, but did not specify which dates will be selected during the month. However, he did confirm that the sobriety checkpoint will be held in Butler County, and the hazardous moving vehicle operation will be held throughout the Troop E area. The operation will be conducted by the Missouri State Highway Patrol in cooperation with local law enforcement agencies.
The checkpoint is a static operation on a specific highway that is designed to check every driver to ensure they are sober. The hazardous moving operation is designed to target vehicles that are being operated in a hazardous manner.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol urges all citizens to report any vehicle they observe operating in a careless manner. The public can contact the Highway Patrol toll-free at 1-800-525-5555 or on their cellular phone at *55.
