A Holcomb police officer was set to appear in Division II of the Dunklin County Circuit Court Friday on a felony charge of hindering prosecution. According to Prosecuting Attorney Stephen Sokoloff, Alvin Roberts was arrested by the Missouri Highway Patrol Drug and Crime Control Unit after he allegedly warned a woman that she was sought by police for burglary. Roberts apparently was using the woman to get information on drug investigations. Roberts is accused of continuing to be in contact with the woman after he knew a warrant had been issued for her arrest.

The charge is a class D felony. Roberts is free on $5,000 bond.
