A 27-year-old Kennett resident, Matt Estes, was arrested April 27 and is currently being held at the Dunklin County Justice Center on a $200,000 cash only bond.

Estes is being charged in connection to a child abuse case that was reported April 26, 2016.

His current charges include first degree assault, abuse of a child, and first degree endangering the welfare of a child.

According to a probable cause affidavit that was signed on April 28, Kennett Police Department received a call in reference to a child abuse case from the Piggott Community Hospital. The victim being 22 months old.

The child's injuries included facial contusions and three different skull fractures. The child was airlifted to LeBonheurs Hospital in Memphis, Tenn., where his condition is unknown at this time.

Estes arraignment is set for May 3 at 9:00 a.m.
