Tragic accident claims life of Kennett man on Highway 84

A Kennett man was killed Thursday morning in a single-vehicle wreck near Hayti.

Tyler S. Hightower, 21, of Kennett was killed when his 2018 Dodge Charger traveling westbound on Highway 84 one mile west of Hayti ran off the roadway, struck an embankment and overturned, Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper N.V. Bishop reported.

Hightower was not wearing a safety device at the time of the wreck, Bishop reported.

Hightower was pronounced at the scene by Pemiscot County Coroner Brian Irons, police said.

The wreck was Troop E's 53 fatality for the year.
