A spiritual person, Mrs. Gettings was united in marriage to Julian “Jay” Gettings on Aug. 11, 1984 at Malden. Mrs. Gettings enjoyed singing karaoke, traveling for weekend getaways with family and visiting with her many friends. She is survived by her mother, Francis Acup McCoin; husband, Julian “Jay” Gettings of the home; one son, Jiremy Gettings (Chassidy); two daughters Ashlei Thomas (Montreal Riley) and Sabrina Keown (Odell Norwood); three sisters, Linda Mason (Neal) Janice Creasy (Pat), and Donna Gettings (Mike); nine grandchildren, Jiremy Gettings, Jr., Autumn Gettings, Summer Gettings, Constance Gettings, Ashlynn Harris, Yazzman Thomas, Edward “E.J. Norwood, BrendaLyn Norwood and a host of cherished relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by one sister, Barbara Reddick. A celebration of life is planned for an undetermined date.
