Civic Clubs

Saturday, June 29, 2024

On Thursday night the Kennett Rotary Club held their Officers Installation Dinner.

It was a wonderful time of good fellowship and looking towards our community’s future.

A civic club is an organized group that comes to help the community. Most also have a national or international cause.

Dunklin County has many different civic clubs. You may not have a club name jump immediately to mind, but believe me, you’ve seen their efforts.

Pancake breakfasts, auctions, barbecues, are all the work of different civic clubs in our area.

Being part of a civic club can give you the opportunity to have a positive impact in ways that are not possible as an individual.

My club has provided me with a weekly opportunity to connect with community members and volunteer.

I met some very dear friends through the Kennett Rotary Club.

Internationally, The Lions Club focuses on improving sight assistance, Kiwanis, internationally, focuses on the needs of children, while Rotary continues its fight to bring polio to an end.

Check out one of these, or other area civic clubs.

Rotary meets at 6:30 a.m. every Thursday at D and R’s McCormicks restaurant.

Stop by and we’ll buy you breakfast. Be a part of something that is so rewarding.

By actively participating in civic clubs, people can contribute to the creation of vibrant and inclusive communities that reflect our values and aspirations.

See you out there.
