U.S. Pres.-elect Donald Trump's Inauguration Day schedule is a busy one.
According to reports, Trump and his wife Melania on Monday, Jan. 20, 2025, start the day with a private church service attended by his daughter Ivanka Trump, billionaire supporter Elon Musk and former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, at St. John’s church in Lafayette Square, then tea at the White House.
Trump is scheduled to be sworn in at noon at the U.S. Capitol, followed by an official farewell to Pres. Joe Biden and Vice Pres. Kamala Harris, reports state.
Trump delivers a speech at the Capitol, which is expected of newly sworn-in presidents, that calls for a "revolution of common sense," according to speech excerpts provided to several media outlets.
“My message to Americans today is that it is time for us to once again act with courage, vigor, and the vitality of history’s greatest civilization,” he is on tap to say.
Trump then participates in a signing ceremony to make nominations official.
The swearing-in ceremony is followed by a luncheon hosted by the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies.
A presidential review of the troops follows, and the inaugural parade makes its way along Pennsylvania Avenue, according to the day's itinerary.
An Oval Office signing ceremony at the White House is scheduled for after the parade and Trump's Inauguration Day concludes with three inaugural balls, all of them slated for attendance by Trump, including The Commander in Chief Ball, the Liberty Inaugural Ball and the Starlight Ball.
Inaugural events end officially Tuesday with the National Prayer Service, reports indicate.
In addition to the formal inauguration events hosted by Trump’s committee, there are a number of additional balls and celebrations in the nation's capital to both emphasize and support the change in administration.
