A number of area Pokemon enthusiasts showed up to Kennett's newest card and games store Saturday to meet and greet the Pokemon anime's theme performer at a one-off event.

"Gotts Catch 'Em All" singer Jason Paige appeared at 8th World Collectables Saturday, where he delighted audiences with songs and stories from his experiences as the theme's global ambassador.

Paige started the show by beatboxing and distributed commemorative cards to everyone who crowded into the shop.

The shop's partners, Allen Johnson and Joseph Crumpton were on hand to both introduce Paige, and live stream the event.

"We had a rough head count of about 85 people," Johnson said. "And realized that if we made our money back for the event or not, it didn't matter.

"Seeing the expressions on those kids' faces was payment enough," Johnson added. "And Jason killed it. He had our guests and his fans grinning from ear to ear the entire time."

The shop is sure to be a hit, and bringing a talent like Paige to Kennett was a great way to introduce the store to the gaming community.
