Junior high and high school musicians dazzled at the SEMO honor band concert, guided by esteemed conductors John Fulton and Dr. Brandon E. Robinson. The event featured talented students from numerous local schools.

Thursday was a fine evening for music.

Area junior high and high school band students selected by audition for the SEMO Band Directors Association Division 2 All-Division Honor Bands performed at Kennett Middle School under the direction of two well-known conductors.

Clinician and Conductor John Fulton directed the Junior High Honor Band while his counterpart, Dr. Brandon E. Robinson, led the High School Honor Band.

Students from Kennett, Malden, Holcomb, New Madrid, Portageville, North Pemiscot, East Prairie, Caruthersville, South Pemiscot, and Campbell all assembled Thursday for day-long clinics in preparation for the event.

Junior High All-Division Honor Band musicians performed Astral Dreams by Larry Clark, The Next Thing by Heather Hoeflw, The Tempest by Robert Smith, and All for One, One for All by Carol Brittin Chambers.

The High School All-Division Honor Band performed Paramount Fanfare by conductor and composer Robinson, Estrellita by Frank Duarte, Battelson by Randall D. Standridge and Trans-America March by Robert W. Smith.

A special treat for all the students and audience members was the All-Division Director's Band performing Birdland by Zawinul arranged by McCutchen, Don't Stop Believin' by Cain, Schon and Perry arranged by Scott, Mah-Na Mah-Na by Umiliano arranged by Vinson and The Time Warp by O'Brien arranged by McCutchen.

All-Division Junior High Honor Band members by instruments were, Flute: Delilah Finney, Emma Busch, Melanie Jackson, Ellajae Pritchard, and Addison Sebastian; Oboe: Coleman Bush; Clarinet: Alayna Biggs, Gabriela Nieves, Rylee Parrish, Kayleigh Kellems, Jaq'Lyn Leech, Taliyha Rumph, Hadley Anglin, James Tomlinson and Baylee Myers; Bass Clarinet: Shay Marshall; Alto Saxophone: Caden Kersey, Andres Vargas, Cortez Jones, Avani Reynolds and Colton Moore; Baritone Saxophone: Jacob Rawls and Parker Jackson; Trumpet: Luke Higgerson, George Livermore, Clara Howell, Tyler Perry, Shawn Locke III, Jose Delapaz, Jude Jewell and Adrian Ibarra; Horn: Ginger Allred, Hampton Wilson, Sebastian Mercado and Hayden Maxwell; Trombone: Micah Torres, Frank Johnson, Eli Combs and Johanna Lock; Baritone Horn: Joshua Sebastian and Madelyn Chronister; Tuba: Samuel Bush and Camdyn Palma; Mallets: Norah Scherer and Mason Wright; Percussion: Dave Cruz, Jordan Wilson, Abigail Cotton, Jade Elvira and Maddox Gage; and Timpani, Natilee Bromsey.
