It looks as if the Kennett area might peek out from the blanket of snow that created a bit of havoc for many of us and caused school closures all week long.
The National Weather Service (NWS) at Memphis Friday called for "a very simplistic weather weekend and week" compared to last week's snow and frigid temperatures.
"You guys had some crazy, severe weather going on last week," said NWS Meteorologist Abby Herdliska. "You had all that rainfall.
"Then the snow event and freezing-cold temperatures," she added. "But you're going to start a warming trend with high pressure moving in, and definitely dry conditions."
Saturday's high temperature is forecasted for the mid-30s and the mid-40s for Sunday, Herdliska said.
"That'll be dry conditions with sunny skies and everything," the meteorologist noted. "The first chance you guys have for a little precipitation is Tuesday-Wednesday.
"We have a weak cold front moving through then," she added. "You'll continue to melt that ice and snowfall. Thursday night was the last little branch of that polar vortex that brought the freezing-cold temperatures and the snow storm, if you will."
Highs are forecasted for the upper 50s and lower 60s for the beginning of the work week through Wednesday, Herdliska said.
