Winter storm leads to early school closures across DDD area

The threat of harsh winter weather reared its head, and most schools in the DDD circulation area closed early today. The schools and their closing times are:

Kennett Public Schools, 12:50 p.m.

Clarkton, 11:15 a.m.

Malden, 12:30 p.m.

Campbell, noon.

Senath-Hornersville, 12:30 p.m.

Holcomb, noon.

Southland, noon.

Gideon, 12:20 p.m.

Risco, noon for pre-K; 12:15 for Junior High and High School.

Warming centers are available at:

Kennett's Safe Haven, 1201 Ely St.

Hornersville's Community Building is open now and will remain open during the cold weather.

Malden's Nutrition Center at 117 E. Main St. is available from now until noon Wednesday unless further needs arise.

The Missouri Dept. of Health and Senior Services designated all public libraries in the area as warming centers during their hours of operation.
