Edwin Franklin "Buddy" Eakins, 81, of Hillsboro, Missouri, passed away on January 8, 2025, at the de Greeff Hospice House in St. Louis, Missouri. He was born on August 12, 1943, to Clarence and Rachel Eakins of Kennett, Missouri.
Buddy was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years, Ira Sue Eakins (nee Largent); his parents; and his sisters, Joan and May Belle.
He is survived by his son, Jim Eakins, and his wife Donna of Barnhart, MO; grandsons, Austin Eakins and Cody Eakins, also of Barnhart, MO; and his guardian angel.
Buddy was a dear father, father-in-law, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend to numerous extended family and friends.
Buddy was a hero to his family—a devoted husband, loving soulmate, and steadfast provider. A true family man, he was known for his hard work, his sense of humor, and his ability to make everyone feel special. If he spoke to you, "you were in." He was a proud Papa, never missing a game or activity of his grandsons. Buddy also had a passion for classic cars and motorcycles, which brought him great joy.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 13, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Highway 30, Cedar Hill, MO 63016. A Funeral Ceremony will take place on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Chapel Hill Mortuary, with interment immediately following at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
