Floyd C.M. Smith, son of the late William Smith and Edith (Burcham) Smith, was born June 17, 1935 in Bucoda, Missouri and passed from this life at his home on January 27, 2025 at the age of 89 years, 7 months and 10 days.
C.M. graduated from Senath High School in 1953 and went on to join the United States Air Force. He later worked for and retired from Emerson Electric, where he was employed for over 35 years. On September 30, 1966 he married Winnie Duncan of Bragg City. They have two children, Timothy and Kimberly, both of Kennett. He was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Kennett before he became physically unable to attend.
He was well known for his love of people and laughter, never leaving anyone without a joke or a story and he enjoyed making people smile.
C.M. was preceded in death by his parents, William and Edith: two brothers: Bob of Kennett, Mo. and Wayne of Troy, Mo. two sisters: Mavis Hufford of Arbyrd, Mo and Wanda Harrington of Troy, Mo. and one nephew: Tony of Kennett.
He is survived by his wife Winnie, son: Tim, both of the home ,and daughter Kim Riggs (David) of Kennett along with one granddaughter, Annalyse (Matt) of Senath, Mo, two grandsons, Jack and Evan Todd of Kennett, and one great grandson, Walker Chandler of Senath, Mo.. He is also survived by a sister-in-law, Carmen Smith of Troy, Mo. two nephews, Tracy (Regina) Smith of Kennett, Mo. and Greg Hufford of Arbyrd, Mo.and a niece, Lisa (Dan) Anderson of Troy, Mo. along with many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be 11:00 am to 12:00 Saturday, February 1, 2025 at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett. Funeral Services will be 12:00 noon at the McDaniel Chapel with Pastor Steven Scherer officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kennett.
Serving as pallbearers: Gerry Duncan, Shane Duncan, Joey Duncan, Ben Fuller, Jared Peckenpaugh and Cody Fuller. Honorary pallbearers are Tracy Smith, Greg Hufford, Scott Caudle, Kent Jensen, Keith Carter and Jeremy Duncan.
